Throughout the year, Don Of All Trades Professional Home Maintenance Services held a number of charitable events in Durham Region benefiting Herizon House, a not-for-profit, charitable organization that provides a place of safety where women and children will feel accepted, supported and empowered as they move towards living their lives free of violence in Durham Region.
We were delighted to invite our friends, family members and women in businesses to our Women’s Helping Hands Charity High Tea Event held on November 14 hosted by Yolanda D’Orazio, Volunteer Coordinator of the Don Of All Trades Helping Hands Building Tree’s of Hope Program. This was a charming and super delicious way to spend an afternoon and help the community. Our Goal was to drop off 30 donated items to ensure every women and child received something special this Christmas from the community.
Our lovely Women’s Helping Hands Charity High Tea table setting.
We wanted to start off by thanking Carmela and Angela, two very special and dear friends who volunteered their time including donating their special flavoured teas, china, food and for beautifully setting up the table arrangements for our special Helping Hands Women’s High Tea Event.
Our Menu
Savory
We started things off with a variety of dainty finger sandwiches. Of course, high tea wouldn’t be complete without the traditional scones with clotted cream and preserves!
Sweets
An assortment of mini butter tarts, mini cupcakes, cakes and cookies including the classic Dutch Butter Cookies and so much more were beautifully displayed on our tables!
There was no charge for this event but we asked each guest to donate gifts for the women and children who are staying in the shelter and help make this Christmas a little better for them.
What an incredible experience spending a few hours together, enjoying company, delicious teas, sweet and savory treats and helping women and children fleeing from violence have a special Christmas this year.
Our prize table was filled with a variety of prizes donated by friends, family and local businesses from all over Durham Region. Tickets were sold at this event in order to raise funds and 100% of the proceeds went to benefiting Herizon House.
